The Super Center is recognized as the convenient option in this modern age to purchase low cost baby bedding. The trade off, however, is poor quality baby bedding made under questionable conditions and worst of all, who knows what type of materials were used in their production?

Today, many parents prefer to buy their baby earth-friendly bedding as it is considered a healthier product. Organic baby bedding sets are popular with all types of parents, from celebrities to middle class couples. There is a dual reason why organic baby items are so popular. Environmental damage is reduced by using natural materials and then there is the security and encouragement of being aware that your child wears or sleeps on items that aren’t processed or made with any dangerous chemicals.

In terms of durability, it seems that organic cotton and bamboo bedding is up to par with standard baby bedding. There are several advantages for setting up your child`s room with natural crib bedding. Usual commercial production of cotton and polyester bedding is both money and chemical intensive. To make cotton easier to work with, manufacturers must add other chemicals to it - chemicals which are also used in harmful products like insecticides and embalming fluids. It’s also expensive to manufacture them because the raw materials require so much processing.

Natural, organic fabrics receive much less processing and often reach the consumer free from added dyes and chemicals. These beds are created in a more eco-friendly way and can also improve the health of the baby as he or she develops. Baby bedding made from organic cotton or bamboo is usually an un-dyed, neutral color, which give parents many opportunities to be creative in customizing the bedding to match the nursery themes.

While there are numerous benefits to using organic baby bedding for your infant’s room, there are a few issues that you should take into consideration. Most organic baby bedding sets are made overseas, since the United States does not produce enough organic cotton and only a minimal amount of bamboo. For this reason, people are worried about the emissions associated with shipping these items to the United States, Canada, and Mexico. Asian countries have the advantage of easy access to raw materials and availability of cheap labor compared to US manufacturers and it is for this reason the latter cannot compete in pricing their products with the Asian countries. Most organic raw materials are produced abroad, requiring carbon fuels and extra costs for shipping to United States manufacturers and retailers.

More and more numbers of parents put their baby’s comfort and health before costs and prefer the organic baby bedding unmindful of the higher cost involved. The extra cost is worth it to protect the environment. Thinking about everything we know about organic baby bedding versus regular bedding, it will take more production of the stuff needed to make organic products affordable to everyone. In the meantime, it looks as though this may be a trend that is here to stay!
