Many people often forget to change their toothbrush on a regular basis even though it is important to do it. If you have an electric toothbrush like those from Oral B and Philips Sonicare then it is just as important if not more so. These types of Oral B electric toothbrush tend to be a lot more powerful and failing to change them can have dire consequences. The major benefit of using an electric toothbrush lies in the effectiveness of the oscillating brush head. Electric toothbrushes may use a combination of vibrations, sonic technologies, and rotary-oscillating movements in order to penetrate deep into the pores of each tooth for total cleaning. If you are using an Oral B electric toothbrush effectively, you can limit plaque, reduce gingivitis, whiten teeth, and neutralise bacteria better than with a manual toothbrush.

So that an Oral B electric toothbrush to remain effective, the brush heads need to be changed at least every three months. Some electric toothbrushes come with digital reminders that alert you when it is time to change the brush head. Other Oral B electric toothbrushes have colour indicator bristles that fade when it is time to change the brush head.

Reduce Unhealthy Pressure

After regular brushing for three months, your toothbrushes head starts to lose its form and becomes more flexible. This means that the brush will not feel the same on your teeth and therefore the user tends to push the Oral B electric toothbrush harder against their teeth. This can lead to bad teeth because applying a lot of pressure can cause damage to the gums and weaken the enamel on your teeth.

Maintaining Proper Bristle Rigidity

Brush head bristles are meant to be firm and they tend to be various lengths so that they can clean different areas of your mouth. A good example of this is the Oral B Sonic Complete electric toothbrush as it has criss crossed bristles to clean difficult areas of your mouth. Failure to change your Oral B toothbrush heads will mean that different areas of your mouth won’t get cleaned properly.
